Your will find removing the fishing line is not easy. You can cut off the visible lines if you do not like the way it looks.
Dens are top heavy and get worst. You will have to support the weight eventually.
You can not remove the plant from the wood so attaching the piece to a larger piece is your only choice. Use brass or stainless screws sinc ou do not want rust - it looks bad and is not good for the plant.
this shows with mounting it is not just about ataching it to a piece of wood. I use only grapevine since it has a life span of 10-15 years for orchid (with the bark removed first) whereas pine has a life span of only 2-3 years. Oak and cypress are other good choices
