Crepe Myrtle is a recommended choice for mounting orchids. I have about a dozen equitant oncidiums attached to a three inch diameter piece of crepe myrtle.
They love it because they grow on twigs and fence post in their home town. The crepe myrtle wood is more than ten years old and still in solid condition. I drilled a hole through the top of the wood and ran garvanized wire through it for hanging. |
