If the plant chose to keep its roots that wet then let it go. This is not uncommon with many orchids. I have seen vandas grow down until its roots were growing in a pond. I have seen a cattleya that was growing on a rock extend its roots directly into the ground and grew in dirt so that it can no longer be removed.

It is not something you can force on the plant, but the plant can grow roots elsewhere if in wants.

Enjoy what is certainly a healty plant.
