Aerial Roots and Humidity Trays

I have placed humidity trays under my Phals.
Now, some aerial roots seem to appreciate it to the point that the longer ones have managed to get all the way to the wet clay pebbles and as soon as they touch it they look much helthier acquiring a nice pale green color that spreads for a few inches up the roots making them look even bigger.
Question is: is this dangerous ?
Might this, in the long run, induce root rot?
