| I am not an expert on gardenia's but my mom has one - and I've had one before too. They are semi-house plants in my "neck of the woods". Looks like seeds are the most common way to propogate them but they can be propagated (taken from information source) from semi-hardwood cuttings as well. Cuttings from actively growing plants will root the most quickly. Best rooting is obtained using a medium strength rooting hormone (e.g. 0.1% IBA and 0.05% NAA) (Koob, email) and either a mist system or a humidity chamber. Rooting takes place in 1 to 6 months. (Koob 1999). Good luck. |
