As soon as I saw your case I started thinking of cool miniatures that might do well for you, things like Kinigidium delisiosa (a micro-phal), Harella odorata (another easy charming miniature that gets lots of flowers)....
I highly recommend one of the books on miniature orchids. It'll keep you busy for years with ideas.
