Question regarding how long of a time a developing flower spike can take... I have had an orchid throwing out a small spike for about a week, when all of a sudden the bottom end started to brown up. It has been about a week since it started, and the brown coloration hasn't progressed that much, but the spike has completely stopped growing. The tip of the spike is still green, and the plant has finally jettisoned the other spike's flowers. (The previous flowers lasted over six weeks, which is a good amount for this vanda...)

So, do you think I blasted the spike, and it won't return to growth, or is there still a small shot in the dark for the spike to make it?
