Plumeria emergency

Hi,

I was given this little member of a trifurcate branching on a Plumeria, which is highly scented and multi-colored. It is very tender and is only about 10cm (4") long , inclusive of the leaves.

The base is almost hollow and has a crescent shape browned area. The rest is fresh.

Since it is very tender ,is there any chance of saving it?

I am planning to plant it in a 'loamy' mix and use some rooting hormone at the time of planting.

Thanks for any advice.
