| Brown spot on bloom I have a small Phal with lovely, perfect blooms. I bought the plant while in bloom, so I can't take credit. The leaves were wilted and very dark green. I nursed it back to health (it was underwatered) and now the leaves are lighter green and very firm (have "risen" from the side of the pot), and the roots are green and firm (they were brownish in spots). Everything seems to be going well, but I did notice a brownish area on the rim of one bloom. It is only a few milimeters long and only on the very edge of the bloom. None of the other blooms have this discoloration. Of course, I do not know the age of the blooms. This particular bloom is on the top of the plant and it was the only bloom that was in the "fetal" position when I bought the plant (the other blooms were all fully erect). It is, perhaps, the bloom that was most affected by the shortage of water. Any insight would be appreciated. There are three "buds" on the stem. |
