The judging was last night...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm thrilled to present to you...
Paph. Susan Low 'Vivienne's Blessings' HCC/AOS (76pts)!!!!!!!

Judges Description: Three flowers well presented on one strong 34cm tall infloresence; sepals creamy yellow with distally diffused brown stripes; pleasingly and uniformly twisted, nearly horizontal creamy yellow petals heavily overlaid wine red; hirsute staminode creamy yellow, centrally suffused wine red; substance good; texture glossy.

The Judging: I think I'm still smiling ear to ear this morning and will be for quite a while! Thanks so so much Kevin for telling me to take this to judging! I'm a very proud momma and learned a lot last night.

There were 9 plants brought to judging - only 2 were awarded. The other was brought by the lady who transported mine. She won an AM (80pts) for her Paph. Hsinying Cherry x fairieanum.

I think the most fascinating thing we saw last night was when they took the plants outside (or put them under 'special' lights). The color transformation was nothing short of amazing! The AM winner actually changed from a dark dark purple to beet red in natural light. With my Paph the colors just 'popped out' at you. Very cool!!!

It was a great day! Out the door at 4am and didn't get home until 11pm. Came home with a touch of sunburn, 2 new orchids won at the judging raffle and an HCC/AOS!

Here she is... can't wait to see the picture they took at the judging!!
