What type of lights are you planning on using? This will be a big factor in determining plant recommendations.
As for summering orchids outdoors...all of mine go outside late May/early June and stay there until the night time temps start to drop into the 50's. I have different zones/areas set up for the different light levels each plant requires. IMO, they benefit greatly from the time outside.
