They certainly help draw the heat up Bernie.
First thing in the morning, they are motionless, but once the sun comes up and starts to warm the GH up they kick into motion quick smart, even if there is no breeze to drive them.
They also help draw the moisture up from the gravel floor to aid with humidity.
