| arleneg: I am sorry I missed your post earlier. The wood they are mounted on not the best. Some are on African Red Wood , which are as hardy as ebony. They are the only 'driftwood' that will sink in water and I use them in my aquariums. And others are mounted on a dead trunk of a golden plum (from my backyard).
