This is a spot of bacterial rot. Cut it out. When you do so, use clean, sterile instrument and take about up to a centimeter of healthy tissue with it. Treat the fresh cuts with a bit of cinnamon or Physan. If you treat this swiftly you shouldn't have too much more trouble.
