Dear Orchid Lord,

I understand your passion and respect for all living creatures. Snails though, need to live somewhere else, far away from orchids. If you saw a mountain lion roaming the streets, unless you didn't care whether you'd be on his menu for his main course, I'd say let him roam free but common sense dictates that danger is lurking, right? Kill the lion? Neh. He would just need to be guided back to his environment. Snails on the otherhand, are a little harder to see and by the time you do, it may be too late...your beautiful orchids may be their dinner and you wouldn't want that after all the labour and love you've given them. There are preventive measures to take to keep them away in the first place but unfortunately, sometimes it's just too close for comfort and aside from a shot-gun or anything messy , zapping them, although a very tall order unfortunately, is the only intervention.

Your heart is in the right place but you've got a responsibility here. It's either the orchids or the snails....
