DDS2007: You are quite right. Odontoglossum is from greek odon=teeth + glossum=tongue. I have not seen a real flower but, apparently it has two calluses( teeth) on either side of the lip (glossum).
BTW, the name orchid is also derived from a greek word orchis ( testicle)
