| It depends on your watering. During the hot summer in Florida, I water every day (or it rains every day) and then I would fertilize every week and occasionally twice a week on the basis that after 3-6 hours of rain there is no fertilizer left.
If you water once a week then 1 or 2 a month is about right. Too much will give you salt build up.
