| What should I do? Hi,
I bought this orchid (Oncidium?) ,along with two others, about 6 weeks ago. I had had not become a member at that time and I just potted it in my own mix of coconut husk, fir bark and a little bit of sphagnum moss( no perlite or charcoal). I might have chosen a fairly small pot though it was much bigger than the one one it came in( actually it was out of the pot at that time!)
It was in very bad shape with the leaves dried out and wrinkled. But within a day or two they were fine and within weeks they started to grow. (photos attached)
My questions are:
1). Is the pot too small?
2). Should I modify the environment to slow down the growth?
3). Should I re-pot it in a larger pot.(It will be two pottings in less
than two months)
4). Should I separate the 'pseudobulbs'(?) and put them in 2 or 3 pots?
[I counted 13 'ps' and two 'runts' (I guess normal size but no leaves)
and three new growths]
I will appreciate any suggestions or advice.
Thank you |
