| Mtssa. C.M. Fitch Hi everyone!
I just purchased my first oncidium at the philadelphia flower show it's a Mtssa. C.M. Fitch Izumi. Can anyone tell me what Mtssa is short for? I'm very nervous because it has such beautiful blooms and I don't want to kill it. The lady there gave me general instructions and told me they need similar care to cattleyas (bright light/drying between watering). The orchid care sheet she gave me says that oncidiums with finer roots need to be watered more frequently as opposed to fleshy roots and this one has fine roots so should I not let it completely dry out between waterings? Can the blubs shrivel up a little bit or should they never be allowed to shrivel up. I've been letting the pseudoblubs on my cattleyas shrivel a little bit before watering it and they've been doing fine. I tried to google it and see if i could get more specific care instructions but that came up short.
Could anyone also recommend a good orchid reference book? |
