Question Lighting Assistance

Hi all, I'm seeking assistance and suggestions on lighting.

SETUP: I have my orchids in an 'atrium' - 10' x 22' room with 3 equally spaced 3' x 6' sunlights (no windows). The room has track lighting (6 cans) on the 10' high ceiling with 6 halogen floods. The room itself gets wonderful natural light through the skylights, except on cloudy days and if there are snow drifts or ice on them. The orchids are placed within the room based on the current angle of sunlight (if that makes sense).

QUESTIONS: To supplement the natural light, what would be the best option for light bulbs in the track lighting? Flourescent/incandescent flood/spot? Are halogen good/bad for orchids? Should I add additional lights anywhere?

Any assistance would be great! Thanks - Vivienne
