When I lived in Michigan I melted snow in a big tub and when it was room temperature I used it to water my orchids. They loved it. It was like rainwater.

I remembered another all-white Cymbidium: Cymb. Sarah Jean 'Ice Cascade'. It has smaller flowers and the inflorescence is usually pendant instead of upright.

jii, does your Cymbidium bloom for you? If it does, i wouldn't change anything. Again, back when I lived in Michigan people would put their Cymbidiums outside in the summer, and leave them out until it started getting cool. The cool initiates their blooming.

Happy Growing Everyone!
