| Hi Steve. I have an Oncidium which is very similar, but the colours are somewhat darker. I was amused by your comments on the background colour, because I submitted a similar image (1 flower) against a reddish background in the Open Competition of Thornbury Camera Club. The judge said 'Wonderful image of the flower, pin sharp, superb colours - pity about the background which should have been plain'. Sometimes, you can't win.

PS In reponse to your original question, some time ago, I looked up 'Oncidium alliance' on Google and found a site with countless images of this complex. I found a couple of specimens that looked like my own plants. I can't recall the site, but it was easy to find. |
